Pro Tips from Someone Who Got It
I talked to an Akron business owner who received $20,000 last year. Here is what she said:
Tip #1: Be specific about fund usage
Do not say: We will use it for general operations.
Say: We will use it for 3 months of payroll for 2 employees, allowing us to retain talent during slow season.
Tip #2: Show impact
Explain how the grant will help you grow or sustain jobs.
Example: This grant will allow us to hire 1 additional employee and increase capacity by 25%.
Tip #3: Apply early
Grants are first-come, first-served. Don't wait until April 29.

Weekend Challenge
Block 1 hour this weekend. Apply for the grant.
Worst case: They say no. Best case: $25,000 in your account.
You miss 100% of the grants you do not apply for.
Have a great weekend!
